The surveillance earpiece, often referred to as a covert earpiece, connects to the accessory connector on the TVX887 and an earbud on the other. An acoustic tube funnels receive audio into the ear such that only the wearer can detect the radio’s audio. A branch cable runs from the radio’s accessory connector up to a small, handheld PTT switch intended to be clipped onto a user’s long sleeve. With the earpiece engaged, the radio’s PTT switch is still active. A small headset icon is visible on the TVX887 screen when the earpiece accessory is connected.
